Understanding Play and Your Child's Nervous System

A live webinar with Eleanor Mann Β· The Reconnected

Play is the work of childhood. Come and understand it.

A 90-minute live webinar on what's really happening in your child's brain and nervous system when they play, and how to help more of that deep, settled, creative play happen in your home. For every age.

Wednesday 24 June 2026, 8pm AEST. Live, with the replay for life if you can't make it. Includes a bonus fridge card and companion guide. $19 USD.

Whether you're longing for more of those settled, lost-in-it play stretches and want to know how to invite them...

...or play already flows beautifully in your house, and you simply want to understand the thing your child spends most of their childhood doing, more deeply...

...this is for you.

Your child will spend more of their childhood in play than in almost anything else. Every parent deserves to understand it. Toddlers through to teens. And yes, neurodivergent kids, we speak to that directly.

What we'll get into together

  • The neurobiology of play: what's actually happening in your child's brain and body when they drop into focused, independent play
  • The different states of play, and what each one is quietly doing for their brain development
  • How to read the moment: when your child, or teen, needs a hand to drop in, and what's happening in their nervous system when they can't just land straight away
  • How to set the optimal conditions: your home, your presence, and when to make yourself invisible, so deep play happens more often
  • How to protect play as they grow, so it keeps doing its work at every age, including teenagers

What's included
A 90-minute live webinar with Eleanor (or the replay) Β· live chat coaching during the webinar and a companion guide to your inbox Β· lifetime replay access in the app. All for $19 USD.

Your guide: Eleanor Mann
Eleanor is a qualified Children's Counsellor, play therapist and breathwork practitioner, with qualifications in counselling, psychology (Hons), child-centred play therapy and breathwork, and a mum of five. Through The Reconnected, she and the team have walked alongside more than 200,000 families learning to understand their children through the lens of the nervous system. No scripts, no "perfect parent" to live up to. Just a clear, body-based way of seeing your child.

Questions parents are asking

"Will this work for my neurodivergent child?" Yes. This isn't about getting your child to play a certain way. It's about understanding what their nervous system is doing in the play they already do, autistic, ADHD, PDA, however they're wired. We speak to neurodivergent play directly, not as an afterthought.

"What age is this for?" All ages. The way play reveals your child's nervous system shows up in toddlers, in big kids, and in teens (where play becomes behaviour, and the patterns are still there). You'll learn to read it at any stage, and it's never too late to begin.

"Is this the same as the Play Patterns Method, or Connected Play?" No, and they don't overlap. This webinar is all-new content: the magic of everyday play. The Play Patterns Method is the framework for tracking your child's nervous system through their play. Connected Play is the set-aside, weekly practice where your child processes big feelings. This webinar is about the everyday play your child does all day long, and what it's quietly doing for them.

Your child is always speaking to you through their play. This is your invitation to understand it, and to help more of those deep, settled, creative moments happen, whether you're chasing more of them or simply want to see your child more clearly.
