A short and sweet beginning module to get you started in the course.

Here, we will share insights into our personal experiences of the teachings and practices of Authentic Over Calm, and provide a clear course outline for the coming content! 

The Myth Of Calm

In this module we bust the myth that circulates the conscious parenting and gentle parenting circles that our kids need us to be calm. That good parents, are calm parents.

You will learn the origin of this myth and other 'calm parenting' myths that are out there and WHY these myths are so popular.

You will also learn how these myths tie into the myths behind regulation.

As well as, the story behind who we are, our experience as mothers of eleven children and our journey to understanding 'calm' and Nervous System regulation.

Learn what TRUE regulation is and what is ISN'T.

Get an in-depth understanding around the basics of the Nervous System such as; the Autonomic Nervous System, the Sympathetic Nervous System and the Parasympathetic Nervous System.

See ways to down-regulate and to up-regulate, as well as, the reason WHY knowing how to move between these states is beneficial.

What Is Co- Regulation and Why Is It So Important?

Do you know what co-regulation is? and how it plays an important part in the regulation of your child's Nervous System?

In this module you will learn all about co-regulation, what the myth of 'calm' and the 'I should' voice does to our ability to regulate, as well as, what happens to our kids when we try to stay calm.

The Importance of Authenticity.

 Okay, so by this point, you've learnt the myth BEHIND calm, the truth about regulation and co-regulation, now we show you what it means to embody authenticity.

Hear from Eleanor, examples of practising authenticity and how it helped her in the Play Therapy room. 

Also learn about how your authentic response is the key to regulating your children and HOW you can do this on a practical level.

Breathwork Activities and Practices.

This module is all about taking everything you've learnt up until this point and integrating it into your Nervous System.

We introduce to you our signature Reconnected Breathwork style and give you a practice that you can bring into your every day life, that will help strengthen your ability to regulate and create a sense of safety for feeling big emotions.

Learn to use your breath, to be able to react to your kids, from a place where you feel free to CHOOSE your response.
